AccuSourceHR™ Workforce Solutions 2022 Year-End Compliance Update
Jennifer Daimon : Dec 6, 2022 6:41:53 PM
2023 is peeking at us just around the other side of December. 2022 has proven to be an interesting year for employers and background screeners, especially with the recent United States midterm election. Voters approved new cannabis laws and the rights of legal marijuana users has remained a hot topic. Local jurisdictions have made it a priority to give prior criminal offenders a second chance. They have also focused on pay transparency. While these topics are not new to employers and those in the background screening industry, they remain crucial, especially for employers with applicants and staff in multiple states.
In this year-end compliance webinar, we will review important drug screening developments, including cannabis legislation coming out of the midterm election, laws impacting permissible drug testing, and marijuana-related employment protections. We will also examine the ever-increasing salary transparency requirements as well as recent ban the box and fair chance laws. We will provide a refresher on new privacy laws that may impact your company in the coming months. Additionally, we will address other topics affecting the industry. We will complete our compliance update by foreshadowing issues impacting the industry going into 2023. We will also review important trends in background screening to consider in maintaining compliance programs.
